Meet Bradley

Kodi and I met Bradley and his dog Trouble at a gas station outside of Washington D.C.

He has endured a great deal, but the most interesting aspect of Bradley's story is his relationship with his best friend, Trouble.

Bradley was living in Las Vegas nine years ago. At the time, he felt alone, broken, and bruised.

On the day Bradley was ready to give up on life — literally — a man approached with Trouble on a leash and said the dog was a rescue who needed a home.

But Trouble wasn’t the only one who needed a rescue.

“This dog saved my life,” Bradley told us.

You might think this was a chance meeting nine years ago, but not me. When Bradley says Trouble saved him, I believe it with all my heart.

Their bond is quite beautiful to behold. And even though their life together isn’t perfect, these two friends have faith, love, and each other.

I explained the Kindness Card Movement and Bradley seemed to understand it faster than anyone I’ve ever met.

“So you’re the vehicle for other people to give?”

Nailed it.

We gave him enough cards for several days, and the timing couldn’t have been better. He’s already using one this evening to fill both their bellies.

As we said goodbye, Bradley was probably more excited to take a photo than anyone I’ve ever met. “I want so many people to see this pic!” he said proudly.

He was so honored to be the face of deeper understanding, of genuine empathy, and of miracles.

I wish I could thank the stranger who passed along Trouble all those years ago. Maybe he’ll see this post.

I hope he knows he saved one life, and blessed many others.

Including mine.
