Reconciliation.
I met Jeff on my last trip and spent nearly half an hour listening to his remarkable story — strokes, survival, and resilience.
Our conversation was cut short when this woman arrived.
But the two have some unhealthy history.
So he quickly shook my hand and said he needed to leave.
“We really don’t like each other,” he said.
Then he shared a bit of their story, and I asked if he thought I should approach her and give her my last McDonald’s card.
“I wouldn’t,” he said with a wry smile.
And then it hit me — this movement has the power to do more than I ever imagined.
“I think you should be a peacemaker,” I said.
“You should give it to her.”
“Really?”
“Go for it,” I said.
It took a minute, but then he steered his chair over beside her, explained the movement, and handed her the card.
It was one of the sweetest scenes I’ve witnessed since this movement began.
Think of it.
You didn’t just help feed Jeff — you helped make peace.
I’ve given away so many of your cards in the last few days, and the stories coming next will inspire you.
In the meantime, let’s all make some peace, and remember our motto,
Give. Gather. Go.
